Catherine Williams, Soprano, grew up singing in church and community choirs in the Metro-Atlanta area. She continued to pursue her love of choral music throughout college, where she was a member of the Georgia Tech Chamber Choir, Georgia Tech Women’s Choir, and a staff singer at local churches. As she earned her B.S. in Psychology and minor in music performance, she couldn’t help but take as many music courses as possible and ended up in more music classes than psychology courses!
Catherine moved to Morgantown, WV where she earned her M.S. and Ph.D. in Psychology from West Virginia University. After completing her Postdoc back in Atlanta at Emory University, she moved to Wilmington and started as an Assistant Professor in Psychology at UNCW in 2022. Her research and teaching focuses on the science of learning and behavior analysis, and she enjoys applying these areas to improve music education and performance.
In addition to singing, Catherine enjoys dancing ballet, serving her 4 cats, trying not to unalive house plants, and cooking with her partner. Catherine could not be more excited to be a part of Wilmington Voices, where she can continue to grow and collaborate with an amazing community of musicians.
