Gina Gilb, Soprano, grew up in the Bay Area in California and began choral singing at age five. She has always had a flair for the dramatic, performing in local community theater, as a soloist, and in as many as 10 choirs at once. Gina holds a bachelor's degree in Music with an emphasis in Vocal Performance from Cal State Hayward (now Cal State East Bay) and counts herself lucky to have also sung at Humboldt State and San Jose State during her college experience. She has sung on tour in Russia, at the White House for President Clinton, with the San Francisco Symphony, and for the Oakland A's. Gina has found herself drawn to music and performance everywhere she has lived, including almost a decade in Fort Lauderdale, FL working and performing at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts, where she was pleased to meet Tony Bennett, Renee Fleming, and Paul Anka, among others.
Since then, Gina has called Wilmington, NC home for almost 15 years and has dabbled in many performance opportunities locally. From “The Sound of Music” with Opera House Theater Company to “Elf: The Musical” with Thalian Association Community Theater and from the National Anthem at UNCW to Gregorian chant with Carolina Liturgical Chorale - she has been blessed with a wide variety of musical experiences. Gina is proud of her service on several local boards of performance organizations, including Carolina Vocal Arts Ensemble, and her current term as President of Girls' Choir of Wilmington. As a mother of two daughters who also love to perform, it is just as likely that you may see her in the audience as on stage. Gina is thrilled to have the opportunity to sing with Wilmington Voices, feeling honored to make music with such a talented, professional group of musicians.
