Jennifer Mueske, soprano, graduated from UNC Wilmington in 2008 with a Bachelor of Music in Music Education and has recently completed one year of graduate studies in Music Education at East Carolina University. She has just concluded her 13th year teaching and is currently the choral director at Laney High School and a private voice instructor at Port City Music in Wilmington, North Carolina.
In her time teaching middle school and high school music, her choirs have achieved consistent excellent and superior ratings at state adjudication with numerous of her students chosen for All-State Choirs and NC Honors Chorus. Jennifer also spent 11 years working in local contemporary music ministry and youth ministry at Wesleyan Chapel UMC and First Presbyterian Church.
As a soprano soloist, her performances include BachFest with the Wilmington Symphony Orchestra, Messiah selections and Simply Schubert with the Cape Fear Chorale, where she was also an ensemble member for many years. While in residence at UNC Wilmington, Jennifer won the prestigious William J Adcock Jr. scholarship, performed with WOOP! (UNCW’s Opera Outreach Project), and as a member of the UNCW Chamber Choir, performed in Germany and Austria, under the direction of Dr. Joe Hickman.
Jennifer lives in Wilmington with her husband Nate, son Riley, and two dogs, and is so excited about this new opportunity to perform with Wilmington Voices.
