Kate McDaniel, Soprano, is a classically trained singer and voice teacher living in Myrtle Beach, SC. Her musical training includes a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from Converse College and master’s degrees in Vocal Performance and Voice Pedagogy from The Boston Conservatory and Westminster Choir College, respectively. Kate has appeared in leading roles such as L'enfant in Ravel's L'enfant et les sortilèges, Mabel in The Pirates of Penzance, the title role in Seymour Barab's Little Red Riding Hood, and Dinah in a production of Trouble in Tahiti with the Carolina Master Chorale and Long Bay Symphony.
In 2019 she worked with Australian composer Diana Blom in the world premiere of Blom’s soprano song set Southern Songs and the U.S. premiere of Blom’s trio The Ballad of the Canterbury Pilgrims.
Kate’s credits as a choral singer include performances under the direction of Germán Augusto Gutiérrez conducting Czech National Symphony, Jane Glover conducting The New York Philharmonic, Yannick Nézet-Séguin conducting The Philadelphia Orchestra, and Sir Simon Rattle conducting The Berliner Philharmoniker in a sold-out performance at Carnegie Hall.
