Edwin Lee Jewell is a native Wilmingtonian and moved back home in 2020 after a 15-year career as an International Flight Attendant for United Airlines (retired). He is enthusiastic about supporting Wilmington Voices in whatever capacity he can by serving on the board. He studied voice under Johannes Bron, Jerry Cribbs, Beth Bell, and was first selected for the North Carolina Honor’s Chorus in ninth grade. He continued to be selected every following year until he graduated from Hoggard High School in 1985. He recognizes and believes in the value of a professional group of talented singers like Wilmington Voices and what they bring to our community.
He possesses a Master’s Degree in English Literature and has nearly completed a Master’s in Teaching from the Watson School of Education at UNCWilmington. With his primary focus on grant writing, fundraising, and increasing organizational awareness across Eastern North Carolina, Lee will apply his writing skills, personal presence, and life experiences to support the growth and development of Wilmington Voices not only as a professional choral ensemble, but also as a thriving nonprofit organization.
